The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Saturday said that around 10,68,000 passengers have returned to India from West Asia since February 28.

In view of the evolving situation in the region, the Government of India remains actively engaged in ensuring preparedness and continuity across key sectors through coordinated response measures.

The MEA stated that it is closely monitoring developments in the Gulf and West Asia, with focused efforts on ensuring the safety, security, and welfare of the Indian community there.

“Flights continue to operate from countries where airspace remains open. Since February 28, around 10,68,000 passengers have travelled from the region to India,” the ministry said.

The Embassy of India in Tehran has so far facilitated the movement of 2,373 Indian nationals from Iran to Armenia and Azerbaijan for onward travel to India.

These include 1,041 Indian students and 657 Indian fishermen, the MEA added.
